Call for the ECIU researcher mobility fund now open
The ECIU, the European alliance of the UAB, has opened a new call for applications for the 2026 edition of the Researchers Mobility Fund (RMF). This programme aims to promote scientific collaboration between lecturers and researchers from the alliance's member universities. The first deadline for submitting applications is 13 May 2026.
The Researchers Mobility Fund (RMF) is an initiative of the ECIU aimed at promoting research cooperation between member institutions, facilitating international stays that allow the creation of new ideas and joint projects with a European impact.
This year's call includes two modalities:
- RMF1 - General
Promotes research stays at any ECIU member university and is aimed at doctoral teaching and research staff. Funding can reach up to €4,000 per application, to cover travel and accommodation costs, and stays must take place between 22 June and 31 December 2026.
To participate in the RMF1 modality, you must read the rules of participation and submit your application through this form before 13 May 2026, attaching a letter of acceptance from the destination university. If more budget is available, a second application period will open in June.
- RMF2 - ECIU Research Labs
Promotes the creation of collaborative research projects, funded by the EU, in areas such as energy, mobility, health and digital transformation. This modality is aimed at doctoral teaching and research staff (PDI), mainly young researchers (R2). It includes online activities and an in-person stay in Łódź (Poland) on 4 and 5 November 2026, with funding of up to €750 per participant. The RMF programme gives priority to those researchers who have not previously participated in the mobility fund and particularly values the potential impact of the proposals, as well as their ability to generate long-term collaborations.
