Finalists of the 8th edition of "Thesis in 4 Minutes" to present their theses on 8 May
The finals of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition, in which PhD students present their thesis during a maximum of four minutes, will take place on 8 May at 12 noon at the Doctoral School. The event will be streamed live on the UAB's YouTube channel.

On 8 May the PhD students selected by the jury will present their research in a plain language suitable for all audiences and in a maximum of four minutes.
The finalists presenting their PhD theses are Carla Alfonso Martín (Health and Sports Psychology, "Quan el cor i la ment parlen: una nova perspectiva per entendre l'estat de l'esportista"), David López-Bosch (Land Ecology, "Ratpenats i persones: la importància dels quiròpters com a alarmes ambientals"), Elena Olivera Begué (Environmental Science and Technology, "Com cremar fusta pot acabar amb el canvi climàtic"), Ester Parareda Martin (Law, "Un pas més cap a l'Europa Social"), María Arqueros (Psychiatry, "Oxitocina inhalada y Entrenamiento en Autocompasión: ¿Una nueva ayuda para el Trastorno Límite de la Personalidad?"), Álex Pérez Sánchez (Chemistry, "Frenar la inflamació per aturar el càncer"), Laura Ponts Martínez (Medicine, "Voldries passar per una quimio si saps que no funcionarà?"), David Ramírez Gómez (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine, "Alzheimer: una resposta senzilla a un repte complex") and Mònica Sagrera Cozar (Animal Medicine and Health, "Estratègies digitals per a reptes biològics: optimitzant la vacunació de PCV2").
The jury is made up of a representative of the Vice-Rectorate for Research, a representative of the Vice-Rectorate for Communication and Culture, and members of the UAB research staff and the Permanent Board of the Doctoral School. The first prize is €800 and the financing of the winner's trip to Girona, and the second prize is €500. There are also the audience's prize, which consists of €200, and the special Assumpció Català i Poch prize for the promotion and encouragement of the Catalan language, worth €300 (these last two prizes are compatible and cumulative with the jury's prizes).
The winner will represent the UAB at the "Present your thesis in 4 minutes" competition of the Catalan Research and Innovation Foundation which will take place on Thursday 3 July 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the EspaiCaixa Girona.
