Official Master's Degree in Advanced English Studies

Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

The master's degree is ideally intended for students who have a degree in the field of English Studies or other types of language studies. Students of similar degrees, such as Linguistics, Theory of Literature, Education or Translation, who can accredit a theoretical and methodological grounding in English linguistics and/or literature, may also be admitted. A prerequisite for admission is proficiency in English as accredited by an official certificate (Cambridge, IELTS or TOEFL). The minimum level required is a C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) in all abilities (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking).. The Master's Degree Coordination Committee will analyse the documentation presented by all candidates and, if necessary, will request an interview.

Selection criteria

In the case of there being more applicants than places available, the following criteria will be applied: 
  • The appropriateness of your qualifications in English studies (30%).
  • Academic transcript (40%). 
  • Motivation letter (5%).
  • Curriculum Vitae (20%).
  • Reference letters (5%).
