When the Gran Teatre del Liceu burned on January 31, 1994, one of the few things that could be saved was its archive. As the years passed, the Societat del Gran Teatre del Liceu saw the need to preserve and give citizens access to this great source of documentation on the activity of a first-rate opera house.

This project started in 2013 and is still alive. The collections of sets, scores and manual programs stand out, although in recent times a good part of the administrative and accounting documentation of the Society has been digitized, which covers a century and a half of the history of the theater and also of musical and social life of the city of Barcelona.

Currently, the Archive has more than 17,000 documents cataloged and available. Regarding your consultation, in these years more than 714,000 consultations have been made. You can check it here.
