We encourage you to participate in this year’s activities to promote open education:

The Open Education Week, to be held from 1 to 5 March, is an annual global initiative aimed for students and teachers to raise awareness about the advantages of implementing open educational resources and practices. Open Educational Resources (OER) are based on the recognition of authorship and public domain or an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no restrictions or limitations.

We encourage you to participate in this year’s activities to promote open education:

 

Ensenyament obert: Reflexions i ajudes per “Aprendre a nedar a l’oceà digital” (Open Education: Reflections and aids for “Learning to swim in the digital ocean”)

Date: Tuesday 2 March from 10 to 11 h

Speakers: Erika Constantino, Juan Antonio Martínez and Joaquim Campuzano. Members of the Area of Information Systems Planning at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, specialized in technological innovations in e-learning and education.
Addressed to: PDI (academic and research staff) and students
Description: Presentation of the UAB MOOC courses and Coursera for students of our university, as well as the new Teaching Center portal providing support for teachers. The MOOC course on digital competences (DIGCOMP). Reflections on open teaching: evolution and possibilities. Question and answer session.

Recursos educatius oberts per a la docència universitària (Open educational resources for university teaching)

Date: Tuesday 4 March from 11 to 12:30 h

Speaker: Dra Gema Santos-Hermosa. Member of REBIUN and professor at the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media of the University of Barcelona. Expert in the development and reuse of open educational resources to higher education. Participant in the European Network of Open Education Librarians of SPARC Europe.
Addressed to: PDI (academic and research staff) and students
Description: Approach to open educational resources from the point of view of the user and creator. Overview of the most outstanding open university textbook platforms. Banks of images for reuse. Presentation of the REA kit, a guide to open educational resources, what they are, how they are created and shared. Question and answer session.
