Documents of Rafael Tasis collection at the UAB Digital Repository of Documents

The UAB Digital Repository of Documents has a new collection, the manuscripts and typescripts by the writer Rafael Tasis i Marca. The digitization of part of the documents has been possible thanks to the grant from the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya for the collaboration in the preparation of the Collective Catalogue of Catalonia’s Bibliographic Heritage. 

The digitized documents form a unique collection. These are manuscripts and typescripts written by Tasis himself between 1920 and 1966, some are drafts of published works but others remain unpublished. 

We cite, for example, drafts of the following novels: És hora de plegar, A reculons, Tres, Abans d’ahir or Muntaner 4. .

Drafts of articles, notes and lecture outlines on Catalan literature and press, on writers such as Maragall, Avellí Artís, Manuel de Pedrolo, Ferran Canyameres, among others, have also been digitized. 

The Tasis collection, donated by his heirs to the Jordi Arbonès Chair of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and deposited in the Humanities Library, is basically made up of personal and family documentation, professional documentation, correspondence and typescripts and manuscripts of his own work. 

The historical value and uniqueness of this collection are given by the personage, a cultural activist and a bridge between the Catalan exiles in America and Catalonia.
