Alice's Adventures in Biotechland

cartell Alicia en el país de la Biotecnologia

The classic character of Lewis Carroll is immersed in this scientific discipline by Andrea Martínez Cruz, a Biotechnology student, in an exhibition at the Science and Technology Library

21/04/2022

Since Lewis Carroll published Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in 1865, her story has been a benchmark both culturally and scientifically, reinterpreted on countless occasions and formats.

The student Andrea Martínez Cruz has also chosen Carroll's story to create her own, adapting it to the objectives of her final degree project: to arouse interest of the non-specialized public in Biotechnology through an illustrated and widely known story to convert it in a popular science material to everyone.

The exhibition, which can be visited at the Library entrance until May 12, makes it possible to identify the eleven areas of Biotechnology and the creative and artistic process developed by the student.

We thank Professor Daniel Yero Corona, attached to the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (IBB) and tutor of Andrea's work, who recommended to present it at the Library.

Let this particular Alicia surprise you!
