On November 30th, from 13:30h to 15h, a talk entitled “There is no justice without life” was held with the participation of Delia Perez Meyer, an activist against the Death Penalty and sister of a prisoner sentenced to death in the state of Texas in the United States. This act was part of the day “Cities for life, Cities against the death penalty" which is celebrated on November 30th throughout the world. The conference took place in the Aula Magna.

Delia Perez has joined various organizations and works to educate people about erroneous sentences and restorative justice. She has participated in conferences, legislative initiatives, acts of different types and has collaborated in the organization of exhibitions of works of art carried out by death row inmates. In addition to her struggle to prove her brother’s innocence and her awareness-raising and outreach activities on the death penalty situation, Delia corresponds with 70 death row inmates. On her consideration of the death penalty, she affirms: “At first, I thought that you had to fight to save those sentenced to death who are innocent, like my brother. Over time, I have seen that the death penalty is unfair in all cases”.
