The internationalization of the educational system has been a priority for the European Union and its university circuit for many years. Proposals, initiatives, projects, and fairs like EAIE (European Association of International Education) work to strengthen this strategy, helping drive the transformation of higher education and rethink the universities of the future.

In this 34th edition, held in Toulouse, the International Coordination and Study-Abroad programs of FUAB, along with the Department of Research and Universities and a delegation of 60 representatives, presented the European alliances in which Catalan universities participate.

These alliances, promoted by the European Union as a key element in the transformation of higher education, are designed to strengthen collaboration between institutions across the continent. Catalonia is part of the European Universities Alliances program, with 9 alliances that include over 80 top-level universities, highlighting its capacity to compete and cooperate on a global scale.

During the congress, which brought together over 7,000 professionals from the sector, the Study in Catalonia stand, managed by the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia (CIC), became a key meeting point to promote the Catalan university system and its training and research opportunities.

This year, the fair revolved around the theme “On route!”, framing several informative sessions on topics related to internationalization, research, and future challenges in the field.

This participation in the EAIE fair highlights Catalonia's commitment to internationalization and its ambition to become a leading hub for educational innovation and research in Europe.
